E0600p Graduation Requirements Procedure


1. Associate Degree

The associate degree is awarded upon completion of a program of study as defined by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board. Associate degrees will be conferred on all students who have completed the prescribed curriculum and have met program requirements as defined by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board, and who meet the following requirements:

  1. A minimum of 60 credits.
  2. All required program courses (including General Studies) applied toward graduation must be recorded as a "C or better" or as "Pass" (in the case of Pass/Fail) grades.
  3. Students must take at least 25 percent of the credits at Western. 
  4. Recommended for graduation by the Registrar.

2. Diploma

The diploma will be awarded to students who have successfully completed all the requirements of a vocational program as prescribed by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board, and who meet the following requirements:

  1. All required program courses (including General Studies) applied toward graduation must be recorded as a "C or better" or as "Pass" (in the case of Pass/Fail) grades.
  2. Students must take at least 25 percent of the credits at Western.
  3. Recommended for graduation by the Registrar.

3. Pathway Certificate

The pathway certificate will be awarded to students who successfully complete all the requirements of the certificates as prescribed by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board and who meet the following requirements.

  1. All required program courses (including General Studies) applied toward graduation must be recorded as a "C or better" or as "Pass" ( in the case of Pass/Fail) grades.
  2. Recommended for graduation by the Registrar.

3. Internal Certificate

  1. Certificates may be awarded for successful completion of courses, groups of courses or attainment of specific competencies

4. GED

  1. The College provides educational services so that persons can receive a GED from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction or a high school diploma from their local high school.
