Event Sponsorship Definitions

Western College Events – an event or activity should be considered a "Western College Event" if a Western Technical College administrative department, academic unit, or sanctioned student organization initiates, plans, coordinates, and delivers the event or activity within the defined mission and purpose of the unit, and retains budgetary and fund control through the College.

Western College Events include, but are not limited to:

College Staff Events and Special Celebrations – any event which includes the entire staff of Western Technical College or is a special college celebration.  Example of such events include: College Day, Goal graduation, and Breakfast Classique.  These events can be booked three years in advance and should be booked as soon as possible to reserve the appropriate space.  The college organization hosting the event will be charged for food, printing or additional extras.  These events will have the highest priority in the Lunda Center.

Recruiting Events – includes large or small tours and other events aimed at recruiting new students to Western Technical College.  These events can be booked two years in advance and should be booked as soon as possible to reserve the appropriate space.  The college organization hosting the event will be charged for food, printing or additional extras.  The events will have a high priority in the Lunda Center.

Training Events for Business – includes any training sessions for individuals who are employed by businesses (i.e. BIS seminars, customized training, continuing education for insurance).  These events can be booked two years in advance and should be booked as soon as possible to reserve the appropriate space.  The college organization hosting the event will be charged a co-sponsorship campus rate for space and equipment if the unit is charging a fee to its customers and/or the business attending the training along with any food, printing or additional extras.

State-Wide Meetings – includes all state-wide meetings of the Wisconsin Technical Colleges for academic and/or administrative units.  The events can be booked two years in advance and should be booked as soon as possible to reserve the appropriate space.  The college organization hosting the event will be charged for food, printing or additional extras.

Other College Meetings and Events – includes all other programs or events that originate from an academic or administrative unit.  These events may not normally be held in the Lunda Center, but would be allowed if the Lunda Center space was available and other space on campus is not available.  These meetings/events can be bumped up to 30 days before the event if necessary.  The college organization hosting the event would be charged for food, printing or additional extras.

Western Co-Sponsored Events – an event or activity should be considered "co-sponsored" if a Western Technical College administrative department, academic unit, or sanctioned student organization agrees to co-sponsor an event or activity that originates from a non-profit organization.  These events can be booked two years in advance.  The co-sponsoring internal organization must agree to the following criteria.

  • The unit must serve as a primary contact for the event within the campus community.
  • The unit, in concert with the outside organization, must participate in some level of planning, supervision, and delivery of the event, and/or share the expenses supporting the event.
  • The co-sponsorship requires that the College's co-sponsorship involvement be noted in any and all published promotional materials.

Co-sponsorship events must be compatible with the mission of Western Technical College.

The co-sponsoring internal organization or the outside organization will be charged a co-sponsorship campus rate for the rental space along with any food, printing or additional extras.

Business Partner Events – an event or activity should be considered a "Business Partner Event" if it is not initiated, planned, coordinated, or delivered by a Western Technical College administrative department, academic unit, or sanctioned student organization.  These events can be booked two years in advance.  The outside organization would be charged a business partner rental rate for space and equipment along with any food, printing or additional extras.

The Lunda Center may serve as the program host to ensure all users abide by Western Technical College policies relating to matters of safety, non-discrimination, non-disturbance, civil obedience, use of Western Technical College grounds, and other relevant Western Technical College policies.  Usage of the facility by an outside organization does not imply endorsement by Western Technical College or the Wisconsin Technical College System.
